Own bathroom and toilet.
I’m a Women’s Dorm Room or a private room. Only the ladies can stay with me. I can host up to eight ladies in four ‘bedstee’ bunk beds. You will have your own shower and toilet and don’t worry if the toilet is busy there is another one in the hallway. I am located on the ground floor.
// Hello I’m Tante Leen. I was a hard working housewife in a time of poverty and reconstruction during the 50’s in the Netherlands. I worked as a housekeeper and shrimp-peeler. Most women in those times had large families and were in charge of the household budget. To make ends meet, everything was recycled and the sewing machine was my best friend, making children’s clothes out of father’s old underwear. The customers of the bar where I worked and sang, signed me up for a singing contest for the best voice of the Jordaan. I came in second place behind Johnny Jordaan and was crowned ‘Nightingale of the Willemsstraat’. Johnny and I would become the voices of our generation and I’m seen as a role model and the voice for many housewives of that time.
