/ Hello I’m the Direction from Schiphol (airport)
From Schiphol Airport there is a direct bus to Haarlem. Bus 300 leaves every 10 minutes from Schiphol Plaza. It’s a 45-minute bus ride to Haarlem station. From there follow the walking directions below.
/ Hello I’m the Direction from the Train/Bus Station
// WARNING use the walking option on Google Maps.
Depending how fast you walk it won’t take you more than 15 minutes to your good nights sleep from the train station. Along the way you pass some great photo opp’s like the most photographed bridge in town which you’ll need to cross to find me.
When you exit Haarlem Central Station on the city center (Centrum) side you see the bus terminal. Take the street on the left, the Jansweg. Follow this street till the Korte Jansstraat and walk to the left. Go to the right to the Bakenessegracht. Follow this canal to where it ends at the Spaarne river. Here you cross the Spaarne over a white bridge called Gravestenenbrug. Then take a left and when you come to another (small) bridge on the left, you cross it as well. Now you’re on Spaarnwouderstraat. You’ll see the Hello I’m Local Hostel right at number 74.

// WARNING: Haarlem loves public transport, bikers and pedestrians!
Haarlem is beautiful and that’s thanks to the city centre without cars. This doesn’t make parking in the centre and in my neighbourhood easy. That’s why my advice is to come with public transport.
Still coming by car?
Navigate to the Spaarnwouderstraat or the Spiegelstraat. Feel free to drive up right to the door to drop off your luggage. The Spaarnwouderstraat is a one-way street, you cannot turn your car in the street. Right in front of the hostel it is possible to park your car for 3 hours, this is paid parking. There are several paid parking garages in Haarlem. The closest is De Appelaar. This one is situated on the upper side of the Spaarne river.
Sometimes you can be lucky and you can find a free parking spot in a neighbourhood close by. Here you will find a few public parking areas which are for free. Navigate to Teylerstraat. From there take one of the streets to the left; Zuidpolderstraat, Vooruitgangstraat or the Severijnstraat. If these parking areas are full you can navigate to the Amsterdamse Vaart.
Check more information about Haarlem parkingzones here.
// WARNING Haarlem loves changing the parking rules from time to time so please feel free to check with me when you check in if you are in an ok spot.
